Amy really wanted to go shopping in Milan so we jumped on the train and travelled from Turino to Milano for the day. The day of the Milano Marathon. Hmmm!!!! Every person and their dog was out and about....and they had cancelled the sightseeing bus for the day because of the closed streets for the marathon. Things did not get off to a very good start.
We found our way to the Duomo.....the cathedral, and John and Amy walked to the top. Great views.

Amy got her wish and went shopping in Milano......at H and M. Couldn't afford the other shops! At least she can say she has been shopping in Milan now.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ...... a shopping mall off the Piazza Duomo.
In the mall they have the four symbols of the four major towns....Roma, Firenze, Milano and Turino. There is a rivalry between Turino and Milano so is customary for the locals (and many tourists, too) to place their heel in the spot where the Turino bull's testicles would be and go around in a circle...ouch - sounds painful.
